Vayeshev – וישב
November 27, 2021
Genesis 37:1-40:23; Amos 2:6-3:8; Acts 7:9-16
Torah Portion “‘וישב/Vayeshev” which means “And he dwelt” and begins, “And Ya‛aqoḇ dwelt in the land of his father’s sojournings, in the land of Kena‛an.”
Pastor Richard teaches that the sage Chassam Sofer explains that Abraham and Issac made converts while Jacob walked out the faith, revealing the light through his walk. Jacob teaches us not to waiver and not to be discouraged. While Jacob was looking for Messiah during his life, Esau received his reward in the life he lived.
Then Pastor Richard teaches about Joseph and explains about the life of Joseph and how his life is a shadow of Messiah. When he came he was rejected and sacrificed.
This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from Amos 2:6-3:6, and the New Covenant teaching is delivered by Ro’ah Alpha from Acts 7:9-16.
The video above contains the entirety of our service day, beginning with our Blessings and Worship portions.
