Chayei Sarah – חיי שרה

October 30, 2021
Genesis 23:1-25:18; 1 Kings 1:1-31; Luke 9:37-62

Torah Portion “חיי שרה/Chayei Sarah” which means “The Life of Sarah” and begins, “And Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years, the years of the life of Sarah.”

In this week’s Torah portion Pastor Richard teaches about Sarah’s life and why it was a triumph. When we serve HaShem we serve the needs of our neighbors. Sarah had the desire to do good to others.

Pastor Richard shows Sarah by her fruits. There is something very special about Sarah’s age and he explains it. There are three parts 100, 20, and 7. Pastor explains these three numbers and how life isn’t life until we go through these three steps.

Then he teaches about Rebecca and how her responses qualify her to become the wife of Isaac and to be in the lineage of Abraham. May this teaching bring you shalom.

This week our Haftorah teaching is from 1 Kings 1:1-31 and the New Covenant teaching is from Luke 9:37-62.
