Bemidbar – במדבר

June 4, 2022
Numbers 1:1-4:20; Hosea 1:10-2:22; 1 Corinthians 12:27-31, Revelation 7:1-3

Torah Portion “במדבר/Bemidbar” which means “In The Wilderness” and begins, “1 Adonai spoke to Moshe in the Sinai Desert, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month of the second year after they had left the land of Egypt. He said, 2 ‘Take a census of the entire assembly of the people of Isra’el, by clans and families. Record the names of all the men 3 twenty years old and over who are subject to military service in Isra’el. You and Aharon are to enumerate them company by company.'” (CJB)

What does the Torah mean to you and how does it bring us closer to Hashem? Do we just sit and wait for something to change? Expecting Hashem to come to us while we stand idle in comfort? We think not! How many times have we been told by men to expect life to go smooth and effortless once we submit to God’s Word? Is that really what Hashem expects from us? No.

Incline your heart to action because as of now we are being called out into our own wilderness, to usher in the Messiah and His kingdom. And, as you move forward, ask yourself, “Is the purpose of understanding Torah about what it means to me, or about what it means to Him?”

This week Brother Mark delivers our Haftorah from Hosea 1:10-2:20 and Ro’eh Richard delivers the New Covenant E-drash out of 1 Corinthians 12:27-31.
